BlackFinn closes doors in Markets at Town Center

Jax Daily Record learns BlackFinn was fighting foreclosure

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – BlackFinn Ameripub in the Markets of Town Center permanently closed its doors Sunday. 

On Monday, the restaurant had a handwritten closed sign on the window Monday and food and furniture was being removed.

Jax Daily Record reported the restaurant and several other defendants were fighting was fighting a foreclosure lawsuit filed by a North Carolina bank.

According to the lawsuit, BlackFinn Jax, based in Charlotte, defaulted on a $1.6 million loan made in 2010. The suit claims BlackFinn defaulted on $672,277 in principal plus interest and late charges in February. 

The closure in Jacksonville was the company's most recent. Locations in Alabama, Michigan and North Carolina closed within the past year. Eight locations still appear on the restaurant's website, although Jacksonville is still listed on the site.

The restaurant's Jacksonville social media pages have been deleted.
