Police: 2 men shot outside Neptune Beach apartment complex

NEPTUNE BEACH, Fla. – Two men were injured overnight in a shooting outside a Neptune Beach apartment complex, police said.

The Neptune Beach Police Department said officers found two men shot on the sidewalk outside Ocean Oaks Apartments on Seagate Avenue, near Fletcher Middle School, at 2:40 a.m.

Both men were taken to Memorial Hospital and were in stable condition at last check, police said.

A car nearby appeared to have a bullet hole through the windshield.

Neptune Beach Police Cmdr. Mike Key said there were multiple witnesses and they were being interviewed.

Neighbors said they heard multiple gunshots before police arrived at the scene. A woman who lives in the complex told News4Jax she initially thought the shots were fireworks, but realized it was gunfire when police and rescue personnel showed up.

No suspect information was given, but any updates will be given on the police department's social media platforms.

Anyone with information is asked to call police or Crime Stoppers at 1-866-845-TIPS (8477).
