JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A man robbed the City and Police Federal Credit Union on the Northside on Thursday afternoon, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said.
The robbery was reported just after 3:30 p.m. at the credit union on Dunn Avenue just east of Duval Road.
According to police, a man walked into the credit union, announced he was robbing the business, demanded money and then took off with an undisclosed amount of money. Detectives said the man stated he had a gun, but no weapon was ever seen.
Police said the man, who was described as being 5 feet, 11 inches tall and having a thin build, was last seen heading west. He was reportedly wearing a beige jacket and blue jeans.
Three employees, but no customers, were inside the credit union at the time and no injuries were reported.
According to Duval County Public Schools, nearby Highlands Middle School was placed on a Code Yellow as a precaution due to the police activity in the area.
