OCALA, Fla. – A woman who took her inflatable paddleboard out for a spin earlier this month in Silver Springs had a scary encounter with a large gator.

While paddling through the springs, Tammy Shaw witnessed a massive gator come out of the water with a smaller gator in its mouth. The large gator then violently thrashed his “meal” from left to right. (Watch video below)

Shaw said she was paddling through Silver Springs in Florida on her inflatable paddleboard when she came upon the encounter.

“I was fascinated just by the sheer size of the gator and the one he was eating,” Shaw told News4JAX sister station WKMG. “I wasn’t too afraid because he was obviously busy but when he went under the water, I was a bit concerned where he was gonna pop up.”
