Police: Teen killed, 3 adults injured in Brentwood shooting

1 in life-threatening condition, 2 in stable condition at hospital

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Police are looking for a gunman who shot and killed a 14-year-old girl and injured three adults Friday night outside an apartment in Brentwood.

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said it happened around 8:30 p.m. Friday on West 38th at Silver streets during an argument after a small party.

In addition to the 14-year-old girl who lost her life, police say two men and a woman were also shot. They were sent to UF Health Jacksonville, where one has life-threatening injuries and the others were in stable condition as of early Saturday morning.

When a News4Jax crew went to the area late Saturday morning, people were cleaning blood from the area where the shooting happened.

Edward Taylor who lives with his wife across from where the shooting occurred was outside working on his car when the shooting started and ended.

“The next thing I know, in 15 seconds, it was all over with. I just heard a bunch of noise and, the next thing I know, somebody was shooting. I ducked between my two cars,” Taylor said.

None of the names of those involved have been released and police said they had no one in custody in connection with the shooting.

“By the time I got up, looked around, I seen cars pulling up. I didn’t even get a chance to get no tag number or nothing,” Taylor said.

Taylor has lived here for 11 years and says he thought things were getting better. Without that tag number, police need your help finding who did this.

Anyone with any information about the shooting is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 866-845-TIPS.
