Woman driving red car suspected in deadly shooting at Northside Popeyes

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Police are searching for a woman driving a red car who may be connected to a deadly shooting Monday at a Northside restaurant.

According to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, a man was walking through the parking lot of a Popeyes restaurant on Dunn Avenue around 1 p.m. when a woman driving a dark red sedan pulled up next to him and fired at least one shot. The woman sped off and has not been found, JSO said just after 4 p.m.

The man was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead, JSO said.

The Sheriff’s Office said it believes the shooter and the victim may have known each other.

No other details about the shooting, including the make and model of the car, were released by JSO.

Investigators are asking that anyone with information about the shooting contact the Sheriff’s Office or CrimeStoppers.
