Jacksonville police seek suspect in deadly Baymeadows Road shooting

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office on Monday asked for help tracking down a man they said it suspected of murder in a deadly shooting on Baymeadows Road.

The shooting was reported Jan. 27 behind a strip mall near the intersection of Baymeadows and Old Baymeadows Road. The Sheriff’s Office said a man was found suffering from a gunshot wound, and he was rushed to a hospital where he died of his injuries.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, through its investigative efforts, detectives determined Marquis D. Daniels, 21, is suspected of murder, and a warrant has been issued or his arrest. He’s believed to be in the Baymeadows area.
