Showers flood roads in McCoys Creek area Rain, storms prompt Weather Authority Alert Day
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Roads in the area of McCoys Creek were flooded Thursday afternoon as showers and storms made their way through Northeast Florida.
A flood warning was issued for Duval County until 5:15 p.m.
Thursday is a Weather Authority Alert Day due to the rainfall.

McCoys Creek, a shallow urban creek, is notorious for flooding. It will become part of the city’s Emerald Trail . One of the goals of the work will be to deepen the channel to reduce flood potential. Ground was broken last summer.
