JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Over 1,400 local children were registered to receive free shoes for the new school year in less than 24 hours, forcing the Kicks for the Kids organizers to close sign-ups. This was the largest response to the program since the group and News4JAX began partnering on the annual shoe drive in 2014.
There is still a high demand for donations and any help would still be appreciated. You can still donate a pair of new shoes for a child through Sunday, July 31.

The Kicks for the Kids shoe giveaway will still be held August 4-6 at The Bethel Church. Families must have an appointment for each child. The Bethel Church is located in the Hogan’s Creek neighborhood at 215 Bethel Baptist St, Jacksonville, FL 32202.
