Law enforcement presence at St. Johns rest stop was due to stolen vehicle investigation

ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. – Initial details were slim about a large presence of deputies and Florida Highway Patrol troopers Thursday night, who were spotted at a rest stop along I-95 in St. Johns County.

The rest area is near County Road 210. Numerous troopers and deputies were seen investigating a red SUV.

A spokesperson confirmed the investigation dealt with a stolen vehicle and that someone was taken into custody. Additional details were forthcoming.
