JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A dry and comfortable day is ahead across Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia, but coastal hazards will be the main concern.
The risk for dangerous rip currents is high at area Atlantic beaches today.
Minor flooding is also possible near the St. Johns River through this evening during high tide. Along the Atlantic coast, some beachfront locations could see minor flooding around high tide this morning. High tide is expected around 9 a.m. in many locations, with a coastal flood advisory in effect from 6 a.m. until noon.
Boaters should use extra caution offshore this morning, with choppy conditions expected over the Northeast Florida waters. A Small Craft Advisory is in effect.
Away from the coast, skies will be partly sunny with some higher clouds filtering the sunshine. Temperatures will climb into the middle 80s, with no rain expected.
Cooler conditions return overnight, with temperatures falling into the 50s inland and the 60s closer to the coast.
Warmer weather moves in Monday and Tuesday, with highs reaching the upper 80s and a few spots possibly touching 90 degrees. The weather should stay dry during that time, but moisture will gradually increase.
Storm chances return from the middle to later part of the week as more humidity moves into the region.
