Motorcyclist dies in rainy day crash on I-95 near Lem Turner Road

Emergency officials respond to fatal motorcycle crash off Lem Turner Road (DOT)

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A motorcyclist was killed and a woman was seriously injured in a rainy Saturday afternoon crash on Interstate 95.

The Florida Highway Patrol said a 39-year-old man, of Savannah, was traveling south with a 24-year-old woman, of Chicago, on I-95 at Lem Turner Road.

Storms were moving across the city and roads were wet when the motorcycle was driving on the roadway. For unknown reasons, the motorcyclist lost control and crashed.

Both passengers were taken to the hospital, where the driver died. The woman was transported in critical condition but expected to be released soon, according to the FHP report.

The next of kin was contacted for the driver.
