Why education is important when talking about Holocaust Remembrance Week

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – President Joe Biden proclaimed May 5-May 12, 2024, as a week of observance for the Days of Remembrance of the Victims of the Holocaust.

This week is intended to remind people what happened when over six million Jewish people were killed during World War II.

Melissa Williams, the Holocaust Educator for the Frisch Family Holocaust Memorial Gallery located at The LJD Jewish Family & Community Services, spoke about the importance of Holocaust education and honoring the memory of the victims through a memorial right here in Jacksonville.

The Frisch Family Holocaust Memorial Gallery will be open on a special day and time, Sunday, June 2, from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. for those who can’t view the exhibit during regular weekday hours.

The regular weekday hours are Monday-Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
