Theft suspect caught after escaping hospital in Palm Coast, sheriff’s office says

PALM COAST, Fla. – The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office has tracked down a theft suspect who reportedly escaped from a hospital in Palm Coast on Saturday, News4JAX sister station WKMG in Orlando reported.

Anthony John Romine, 29, had been arrested for a felony petit theft warrant and was being held for medical clearance at the AdventHealth hospital along State Road 100 when he allegedly escaped that morning, the sheriff’s office said on social media.

In an update shared around 2 p.m., the sheriff’s office said Romine had been located and was in custody.

The search for Romine involved the use of the county’s FireFlight helicopter, according to the sheriff’s office.
