77-year-old Lake City man killed after colliding with tree in Columbia County: FHP

COLUMBIA COUNTY, Fla. – A 77-year-old Lake City man died Saturday morning after colliding with a tree off a roadway in Columbia County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Troopers said the man was driving a white Ford Explorer east on Southwest Finley Little Road near Southwest Soltice Court around 8:16 a.m. when he failed to maintain his lane.
The SUV veered off the north side of the Southwest Finley Little Road and struck a tree.
The driver was taken to UF Health in Gainesville, where he was pronounced dead.
