PUTNAM COUNTY, Fla. – A Putnam County woman was charged with criminal mischief after stealing items from graves at Etoniah Cemetery on Wednesday.
The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office said victims reported items disappearing from the graves of loved ones in April.
Family members installed cameras near the gravesites and captured her with a windchime from a grave in her hand as she tried to take another item.

Detectives confronted her at her home and found several stolen items. She told deputies she had been caught before taking from graves.
A Palatka Police Department report shows charges were forwarded in 2020 for larceny related to a theft from an East Oak Hill Cemetery grave in Palatka.
She was taken to the Putnam County Jail and was released on $5,000 bond.
