VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. – A motorcycle rider who fled from deputies during a traffic operation led law enforcement on a high-speed chase across four counties before eventually being tracked down and arrested, according to deputies.
Investigators say the incident began in June during a Volusia County Sheriff’s Office traffic operation, when the motorcycle rider fled from deputies and sped across four counties, weaving in and out of traffic at high speeds.
The pursuit might have gone cold — but Air One was watching.
The agency’s aerial unit was overhead when the rider stopped to refuel in Eustis, capturing critical evidence that would later support an arrest warrant for reckless fleeing.
Investigators also pointed to the suspect’s own social media posts as evidence — images that appeared to show the VSO and Air One unit in the background during the chase.
Stevens Marin Pantojas, 42, of St. Augustine, was taken into custody on the warrant by the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office.
