75% of Americans say they’re struggling with inflation, survey shows. An economist weighed in

President Donald Trump says we have seen an end to inflation. But most Americans might tell otherwise.

A recent survey found that 75% of people said soaring prices are hitting their wallets and hitting them hard.

When asked to estimate how much their regular monthly household costs have increased from last year, 74% of those surveyed said they had seen increases of at least $100.

Trump’s re-election victory came as voters soured on Joe Biden’s economic policies and the legacy of Covid-era inflation. But with just over a year until the midterm elections, Trump’s economy isn’t looking much brighter.

Alex Jaquez, an economist with the Groundwork Collaborative, joined News4JAX anchor Bruce Hamilton on The Morning Show to discuss the things weighing heaviest on the economy.

Jaquez talked about how the federal government shutdown may make matters worse and why a slowing economy doesn’t bode well going into the holiday shopping season.
