Driver strikes two telephone poles, dies in Putnam County crash: Florida Highway Patrol

PUTNAM COUNTY, Fla. – The Florida Highway Patrol said a man, 35, died on Friday afternoon after his vehicle struck two telephone poles in Putnam County.

FHP said the man was heading west on State Road 20, north of West Cowpen Lake Road, around 3:45 p.m. when his car ran off the roadway by several hundred feet.

He hit the first pole, traveled a few more feet, and hit the next pole on the right shoulder of the roadway, FHP said.

The man died at the scene.
