Man dies after being shot multiple times inside laundromat in Northwest Jacksonville; no arrests made

Witnesses have been detained, JSO says

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A man died Monday morning after being shot multiple times inside a laundromat in Northwest Jacksonville, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

JSO Sergeant Natasha Thompson said officers responded to a reported shooting around 8 a.m. at a laundromat on Soutel Drive, near New Kings Road.

When first responders arrived, they found a man, in his early 20s, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

According to JSO, the man died at the scene.

Thompson said the suspect was seen leaving the area in an unknown direction. He was wearing dark clothing and white shoes.

Detectives with the JSO homicide and crime scene units were still in the process of gathering evidence to determine what led to the shooting and the relationship of those involved.

Police said detectives were also interviewing witnesses.

“This incident appears to be isolated and no danger is suspected to the public,” Thompson said.
