Starting today, Southwest Airlines has new restrictions on how many rechargeable devices are allowed on planes

Southwest Airlines has started a new rule: it will only allow passengers to carry one portable charger on its planes and passengers won’t be allowed to put the charger in the overhead bin or in their checked luggage.

Jeff Marootian is the president and CEO of UL Standards and Engagement, which is a safety non- profit organization that works with the airline industry to understand and protect against the risk of rechargeable devices catching fire on planes.
