The ban applies to all open burning within Duval County limits and includes residential burning, recreational fires, fireworks and commercial land clearing operations. The ban remains in effect until further notice.

Not all fire-related activity is off the table. Residents can still use enclosed grills or smokers for food preparation. Flaring of waste gases for safety purposes is also permitted during the ban.
