Brantley County Schools to remain closed Monday, Tuesday amid fire conditions

BRANTLEY COUNTY, Ga. – Brantley County Schools will remain closed Monday and Tuesday, April 27–28, as officials continue to monitor ongoing fire conditions in the area.

School leaders say they are working closely with safety officials as they plan for a safe return for students and staff.

“Our hearts are with the families who have lost homes and/or had to evacuate,” the Brantley County School System said in a statement. “We remain deeply grateful for the tireless efforts of our emergency responders, safety teams, and the many volunteers supporting Brantley families during this time.”

Despite the continued closures, the district will provide meals for students. School meals will be available to all Brantley County students at designated drop-off locations on Monday, according to Brantley County School System.
