JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A man in his mid-20s was killed in a three-vehicle crash on Sunday afternoon in the 6900 block of Schindler Drive, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said.

At about 2:40 p.m., an elderly man was driving a Chevrolet SUV and had stopped southbound on Schindler Drive waiting to turn left onto Huntington Woods Drive when a Toyota Camry driven by a younger man, also southbound, moved into the oncoming northbound lane as the Chevrolet began to turn, JSO said.

The left front of the Chevrolet struck the right rear of the Camry, which then slid off the roadway, rolled and collided with a Nissan SUV that was also southbound on Schindler Drive, the sheriff’s office said.

The Camry driver was ejected during the crash and was pronounced dead by Jacksonville Fire Rescue when crews arrived, JSO said.

The sheriff’s office said this is the 64th traffic fatality in Duval County this year.
