JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A 15-year-old was arrested on multiple felony charges following two separate attempted sexual battery incidents in Jacksonville, one at a local park and another at a nearby apartment complex, police said.

On Wednesday, April 29, Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office officers responded to Touchton Road Park after a woman reported a young man had grabbed her on the walking path. She said the teen simulated holding a gun to her back as he attempted to take her into the woods.

JSO said the victim was able to fight the teen off and call police. The suspect had left the park before officers arrived.

Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office opened an investigation, and two days later, a witness who had seen the initial incident at the park called police after spotting the teen at the same location. The witness identified the teen as the attacker, and he was taken into custody.

During the investigation at the teen’s apartment complex, detectives learned he had also attempted to sexually batter a woman at the complex’s pool earlier in the month.

The teen was arrested and charged with attempted kidnapping and two counts of attempted sexual battery.
