Man in critical condition after Southside shooting; JSO searching for 2 suspects

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – One man is fighting for his life after a shooting on Thursday night on Kernan Blvd. South near Beach Blvd.

JSO says they were called out around 9:45 p.m. after reports of gunfire. A short time later, a man with multiple gunshot wounds showed up at a hospital.

Police said the victim is in his early 20’s who was shot several times in his lower and upper body. He injuries are considered life-threatening and was last listed in critical condition.

According to JSO, witnesses heard at least 5-6 gunshots in a parking lot on Kernan Blvd. They also told investigators they saw a woman holding a gun with another man walking behind her. JSO said the pair got into a dark-colored sedan and drove off.

JSO said the victim is currently intubated and has not been able to speak with detectives. Investigators said the shooting appears to be an isolated incident and they do not believe there is an ongoing threat to the public.
