JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A man in his 20s was shot after a bullet entered his home and struck him in the leg in the Beachwood neighborhood on Jacksonville’s Southside.
The shooting occurred on the Southside, on the 10900 block of Beach Boulevard, at about 1:15 a.m. on Sunday.

According to a preliminary investigation by the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, the man was awake inside his residence when he heard multiple gunshots outside.
That’s when one of the bullets entered his home and struck his leg.
The suspect fled the area in an unknown direction. There is no suspect description at this time.
The victim was transported by Jacksonville Fire and Rescue to a local hospital, where he is listed as being in non-life-threatening condition.
Detectives with the Robbery and Violent Crimes Unit are actively investigating the scene and canvassing for leads.
Shell casings were recovered from the scene, and JSO believes this is an isolated incident that is not related to a domestic dispute.
