JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – All northbound lanes of Roosevelt Boulevard at San Juan Avenue have reopened after a man riding a motorized skateboard was fatally struck, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said.
Officials said at about 2:14 p.m., a man in his mid-20s riding a micro-mobility device or motorized skateboard eastbound at San Juan at the same time a Chevy Silverado was northbound and struck the rider in the inside lane.

JSO said according to a witness, the rider did not have right of way because he was crossing against the flow of traffic and the northbound Roosevelt light was green.
Jacksonville Fire and Rescue said the man died at the scene. This is the 99th traffic fatality in Duval County in 2026.
