Man killed, another injured in head-on crash on State Road 100 in Flagler County

FLAGLER COUNTY, Fla. – A 57-year-old De Leon Springs man was killed and a 59-year-old Port St. Lucie man suffered minor injuries after a pickup and a tractor-trailer collided head-on early Monday on State Road 100, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The crash occurred about 5:10 a.m. at State Road 100, 1.2 miles west of Bertha Road. The pickup was traveling westbound and the tractor-trailer was eastbound when the pickup left its lane and entered the eastbound lane, striking the tractor-trailer’s left front, FHP said.

The driver of the pickup died at the scene. FHP said the driver was wearing a seat belt and that next of kin were notified. The tractor-trailer driver was treated for minor injuries.

FHP is investigating.
