JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – JEA is reviewing plans for an 85,000-square-foot U.S. Army Reserve training facility planned on the city’s west side, and filings also show an 8,700-square-foot vehicle maintenance shop off Normandy Boulevard near Cecil Airport, the Jacksonville Business Journal reported Wednesday.
The utility review is part of the project’s early permitting process and would assess impacts to water, sewer and electric service, the report said. Details about site ownership, funding, a construction schedule and any required service upgrades were not immediately available.

Projects of this size typically require multiple city and utility reviews, including site plans, engineering comments and utility service letters. Coordination between military planners, the applicant and municipal officials is common for facilities used for training and support activities.
