Police say investigation revealed more than 120 checks
Investigators say the alleged theft came to light in November 2025, when a new treasurer took over the organization and discovered the financial discrepancies. Investigators say the majority of the stolen funds were deposited directly into Crews’ personal bank account.
According to police, more than 120 checks were written from the ABAA account, made out to Crews, and signed by Crews himself — all while he held the treasurer position.
