Man found fatally shot in parking lot of Northwest Jacksonville business: JSO

A man in his 30s was killed Monday morning in a shooting in Northwest Jacksonville, the Sheriff’s Office said.

Sgt. Ty Mitlyng with the JSO Homicide Unit said officers were called around 4:30 a.m. to a business on Soutel Drive near New Kings Road because of reports that someone had been shot.

They found the man with apparent gunshot wounds, but he died at the scene.

Mitlyng said detectives are searching for any possible witnesses or surveillance video, and they do not have any information on a shooter or what led up to the shooting.
