After years of serving the St. Johns community, Jax Fish Fry has closed its doors — but the couple behind it wants customers to know the decision was made with love, not defeat.
Roger and Dori, the owners of Jax Fish Fry, shared the bittersweet news with their loyal customers in a heartfelt message. Dori has been battling cancer for nearly two years, and while her fight is far from over, the couple decided to shift their focus to her care and to spending quality time together.

“She is still fighting and has no intention of giving up,” Roger wrote. The couple asked for understanding, and made clear this chapter is closing on their own terms.
Jax Fish Fry expressed genuine excitement for what’s coming next to their former space.
“We are excited to welcome the new restaurant taking over our space,” they wrote. “They too are ‘bringin’ a little north to the south.’”
