Veterans attended a bike-fitting event Wednesday to make adjustments before the ride.

“This is my first one, so I’m really excited about it,” Army veteran Maria Terry said. “I miss being around other veterans, and being able to come together while doing something physical and staying active makes it even better.”

The kickoff celebration began at 9:30 a.m., with riders leaving around 10 a.m. The 20-mile route will take riders to the USS Orleck before returning to Wounded Warrior Project headquarters.

Thursday is the first day of the event. On Friday, riders will travel through Jacksonville Beach.

Drivers in the Belfort Road and downtown areas should plan for possible traffic changes and watch for cyclists along the route.
