A federal grand jury has indicted a Jacksonville Beach dentist on various tax evasion charges, after prosecutors argued that he skipped out on more than $1 million in income taxes from 2020-2023.
Jon Christopher Williams filed his personal 1040s for 2002 through 2012, then asked for extensions for 2013 and 2014, but never filed returns for those years, according to the indictment.

In fact, he hasn’t filed an individual tax return since 2012, federal prosecutors said.
Similarly, he filed tax forms for his dental practice for 2002 through 2012, then asked for an extension for 2013, but never filed anything after 2012.
According to the indictment, for the 2020 through 2023 tax years, Williams failed to report business income totaling approximately $3,371,657, and failed to pay income taxes totaling approximately $1,079,136.
In that same time period, though, prosecutors point out that Williams used tens of thousands of dollars from a business bank account for his children’s school tuition, spent money from the business account for personal travel, and used $310,000 to buy a home.
Williams is charged with:
- 4 counts of attempting to evade & defeat individual income tax – for the years 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023.
- 11 counts of failure to truthfully account for and pay over payroll taxes: over several time periods between June 2020 and January 2023, he failed to pay about $133,360 in payroll taxes for his business, prosecutors say
- 1 count of endeavoring to obstruct and impede the administration of the Internal Revenue Laws
According to the indictment, in October 2021, IRS Criminal Investigation (IRS-CI) began looking at Williams for possible criminal tax violations.
Prosecutors said by that point, he already hadn’t paid taxes since 2012.
The indictment details Williams’ actions over the next 2.5 years, where he demanded that the IRS “cease and desist all activities against me,” and emailed an agent to say, “Are you aware that you, personally, can be held liable for any actions committed against me under color of law?”
In May 2023, Williams mailed the IRS-CI agent a statement that said in part, “I state an additional Affidavit of Truth and Assertory Oath, Repudiation and Revocation of Citizenship is now properly served, noticed as unrebutted, judgmented [sic], and placed upon the public record.”
He also demanded that the IRS, Treasury, and Attorney General pay him the “invoiced amount” of $525,000 within 30 days.
No court dates have been set for Williams as of Tuesday afternoon, and court dockets do not yet show whether he has retained an attorney.
