Jacksonville ‘super speeder’ accused of driving over 100 mph on Atlantic Blvd

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A 21-year-old Jacksonville man was arrested early Wednesday morning after police say he was caught driving more than 100 mph on Atlantic Boulevard.
News4JAX is not naming the driver because he is charged with a misdemeanor.

The man was taken into custody around 12:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 12, just west of the intracoastal bridge, according to his arrest report.
According to the report, an officer was monitoring westbound traffic when he observed a vehicle traveling at an extreme high rate of speed. The officer then stopped the vehicle and placed the driver under arrest, according to the report.
The man was charged with operating a motor vehicle at 100 mph or more in a manner that threatened persons or property, a second-degree misdemeanor.
