President Donald Trump says he’s in the “final throes” of a peace deal with Iran after a dangerous escalation with Israel.

Trump suggests an agreement will be done in days. But the president has made promises before.

And complicating matters is the fact that Israel is apparently ignoring Trump’s warnings to halt strikes on Southern Lebanon.

And the U.S. and Iran escalated attacks after the downing of an American Apache helicopter.

Osamah Khalil, an expert on U.S. foreign relations and the Middle East and a history professor at Syracuse University, joined us on The Morning Show to discuss the prospect of a deal between the U.S. and Iran.
