Sippable summer cocktails with Renegade Lemonade

Established in 2020 -- yep, during COVID-19 -- Renegade Lemonade has its roots in the basement of Alex and Brady Reiter in Acworth, Georgia (a small town of about 22,000 northwest of Atlanta).

“The world was going to end. We had to make our own alcohol. Something to barter with,” Brady Reiter joked on River City Live. “It was just something fun that I did.”

He said he found an old 1970s recipe book with a lemonade wine in it. Having grown up in Southern California with a big lemon tree in his grandfather’s backyard, the cocktail was a natural fit for Brady.

“I made it. It turned out it was really good,” Brady said, but he knew it could be even better.

Trained as a chef, Brady started experimenting with fresh ingredients and 30 batches later came up with what is now Renegade Lemonade, the sole producer of wine crafted entirely from lemons (no grapes involved here).

The wine’s character is marked by a light, crisp profile, offering a refreshing interplay of tartness and sweetness. Alex said he crafted it to taste like an adult lemonade.

“It’s a fun wine, not a fine wine,” Brady told Rance, who enjoyed a taste on the set.
