New book shares Afghan girl’s journey-and a message of hope

“Sarina of Kandahar: An Afghan Girl’s Journey To Change The World” is a new children’s book co-authored by Maya Jones and Alexis Magnano. The authors met Sarina, a brave refugee woman from Afghanistan, through volunteering at JaxTHRIVE, a student-led non-profit dedicated to supporting and mentoring refugee youth. Inspired by her courage and leadership, they share her story to encourage young readers to believe in their own strength and that they are never too young to make a difference.
