Local percussionists head to a national stage

Ponte Vedra High School’s award-winning indoor percussion ensemble, Ponte Vedra Percussion (PVP), is a fully student-funded, high school ensemble. PVP medaled at the last three state championships, culminating in a Gold medal in 2025. This year, they have set a goal to compete at the highest level at the WGI World Championships. Support their journey to Dayton, Ohio, and put St. Johns County on the national stage. PVP needs the help of community members, local businesses, and supporters of the arts to raise at least $25,000 to ensure that all members can participate without financial constraints. Indoor percussion, often referred to as percussion theater, is a competitive performing art that merges musical performance, marching, and theater. PVP teaches students vital life skills such as personal responsibility, time management, and teamwork, while fostering a deep appreciation for the arts. These students consistently excel not only in performance but also academically, with 99% enrolled in AP, honors, and/or dual enrollment courses.Visit their GoFundMe page (https://www.gofundme.com/f/ponte-vedra-percussion-dreams-of-nationals) to make a monetary donation.
