JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The News4JAX Super 6 girls soccer rankings will be published every Thursday during the regular season — except during Christmas week. Records are through Dec. 20 games.

1. (1) Ponte Vedra (9-1-1, Class 6A)

Notable wins: Beachside, Bishop Kenny, Bishop Moore, Fletcher, Gulf Breeze, Tocoi Creek.

Glance: The Sharks went 1-1 since our last Super 6, with their first loss of the season in a 1-0 game to Edgewood. Ponte Vedra bounced back with a 1-0 win over No. 2 Bartram Trail in one of the area’s best rivalries. They’ve got Mariner, Vero Beach and Lincoln over Dec. 27-28.

2. (2) Bartram Trail (9-3-1, Class 7A)

Notable wins: Daytona Beach Seabreeze, Edgewood, Lakeland Christian, Navarre, P.K. Yonge, St. Johns Country Day, Tocoi Creek.

Glance: The Bears handed Edgewood its first loss of the season convincingly. They also beat No. 3 St. Johns CD with the lone score from Brooke Gosse, here eighth of the season. 8 goals). But they dropped a clash against Ponte Vedra (1-0) this week, so the Sharks stay on top. Carolyn Johnson (9 assists, 6 goals), Macey Millard (5 goals, 3 assists) and Leilany Fresse (5 goals, assist) are also playing well. They’ve got Beachside on Thursday before a break until Jan. 9.

3. (3) St. Johns Country Day (7-2-4, Class 2A)

Notable wins: Atlantic Coast, Bishop Moore, Doral Academy, Episcopal, P.K. Yonge, Plantation American Heritage, South Walton,

Glance: Quality stretch for the Spartans. They handed South Walton its first loss (4-2) and then tied Niceville out in the Panhandle. They returned home for a 3-1 win over Bishop Moore. The loss was a 1-0 clash against No. 2 Bartram. They returned home with a tough 1-0 loss to No. 2 Bartram. The Spartans go on the road for a Friday game at unbeaten South Walton and a Saturday tilt at an 8-1-2 Niceville. Sydney Schmidt (7 goals, 4 assists) is leading St. Johns as it enters Christmas break.

4. (4) Creekside (8-0-2, Class 7A)

Notable wins: Beachside, Oakleaf, Providence, Stanton, Tocoi Creek.

Glance: The Knights enter the new year unbeaten after a 2-0-1 week since our last Super 6. They beat a solid Tocoi Creek (3-0) and Fleming Island (6-2), then tied No. 6 Atlantic Coast. Chloe Iliff (9 goals), Alanna Maki (6 goals), Jaclyn Bessman (5 goals) and Samantha Colvin (5 goals) lead an excellent Creekside team.

5. (5) Nease (9-0-2, Class 6A)

Notable wins: Beachside, Mandarin, Middleburg, Oakleaf, Sandalwood.

Glance: Wins over Middleburg (6-0) and Beachside (2-0) since our last Super 6. The Panthers visit Fletcher on Thursday before the holiday break.

6. (6) Atlantic Coast (8-1-2, Class 7A)

Notable wins: Fleming Island, Fletcher, Gainesville, Satellite, Stanton.

Glance: The Stingrays are a quality team on both sides of the field. They beat a 10-win Satellite since our last Super 6 and also played to a 1-all draw against unbeaten Creekside. Atlantic Coast is off until mid-January.
