Jaguars receiver Brian Thomas Jr. a finalist for rookie of the year, headed to Pro Bowl

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Brian Thomas Jr. is a finalist for the rookie of the year and heading to next week’s Pro Bowl in Orlando, the latest accolades for the Jaguars receiver.
Thomas was initially an alternate to the Pro Bowl but was elevated to attending to replace Ravens receiver Zay Flowers on Thursday. Thomas, along with long snapper Ross Matiscik and punter Logan Cooke are all headed to the Pro Bowl. The games begin Jan. 30.
The rookie finalist honors comes after Thomas demolished franchise records in catches (87), yards (1,282) and touchdowns (10) for a first-year player. Thomas was third in the NFL in receiving yards and tied for sixth in touchdown catches. Thomas led all rookie pass catchers in the major categories and is one of just four rookies since 1970 to eclipse 1,200 yards and 10 TDs.
Thomas joins Raiders tight end Brock Bowers, Washington quarterback Jayden Daniels, Giants receiver Malik Nabers and Broncos quarterback Bo Nix as finalists. Daniels is the heavy favorite to claim the honor. The No. 2 overall pick has the Commanders in the NFC championship game.
