High school football ‘25: Friday night’s scoreboard and looking ahead to Week 8

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Week 7 of the high school football season is in the books, and it was a light Friday night around the area.

Five Super 10 teams were off during a heavy bye week, and the four who played won big.

No. 9 Beachside rolled in the Varsity 4 Game of the Week in a 45-14 rout of Tocoi Creek. No. 10 Ed White pulled away after a slow start for a 48-21 win over Atlantic Coast.

No. 4 Mandarin went on the road and topped Rockledge 38-10. Seventh-ranked Bradford routed host Palatka 36-0. And No. 8 Columbia bounced back from a loss to St. Augustine with a 35-0 romp over Manatee.

One of the best games of week came in Creekside’s 30-27 win over visiting Fleming Island. Jaxon Earle scored a pair of touchdowns in the fourth quarter, including the winner with 13 seconds left.

The Knights won their fifth consecutive game over the Golden Eagles. Four of those games have been thrillers (48-45 last year; 49-48 in 2023 and 38-35 in 2022). Creekside will play for its second consecutive district title next week against Atlantic Coast.

Wolfson had a big win over Stanton, rolling 45-8 to win for the third time in its last four games for head coach Jermaine Wilson.
