It took longer than expected, but Hines-Allen stands alone in Jacksonville history for the most sacks by a player.
On a third-and-10 play in the second quarter, Hines-Allen dropped Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert for a loss of 14 yards. It was a long time coming. It was the 56th career sack for Hines-Allen, Jacksonville’s first-round draft pick in 2019. He passed Tony Brackens for the No. 1 spot on the list. Brackens was a second-round pick in 1996 and played eight years with the franchise before retiring due to knee issues.
Hines-Allen passed the mark in the 100th game of his career.
He’s got three sacks this season.
