Varsity 4 Super 6 girls lacrosse: Tocoi Creek, Bartram Trail move up as regular season winds down

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The News4JAX girls lacrosse Super 6 will be published Monday through the end of the regular season with the exception of Spring break. Records are through March 29.

Ranking, Previous, School, Record, Classification

1. (1) Episcopal (10-2, Class 1A)

Notable wins: Bolles, Hagerty, Harrison (Ga.), Newsome, Oak Hall, Ponte Vedra, St. Edward’s, Tocoi Creek, Vero Beach.

Glance: The Eagles dropped their lone match since our last Super 6, a 22-9 loss to unbeaten reigning Georgia state champ, West Forsyth. Not a cause for concern. Eagles are cemented at the top spot here.

2. (2) Ponte Vedra (8-3, Class 2A)

Notable wins: Bartram Trail, Bolles, Cambridge (Ga.), Fletcher, Harrison (Ga.), Vero Beach.

Glance: The Sharks went 1-1 since our last update, crushing Creekside (20-1) and then losing big to Delray Beach American Heritage (15-2). They visit a strong Tocoi Creek team on Thursday.

3. (4) Tocoi Creek (12-2, Class 2A)

Notable wins: Bartram Trail, Buchholz, Fleming Island, Nease, St. Augustine, South Walton.

Glance: Solid week for the Toros. They racked up quality Ws over Fleming Island (17-5), Creekside (13-7), and Buchholz (15-6) to stretch their winning streak to nine games. Ashley Cotter is up to 73 goals for the Toros.

4. (5) Bartram Trail (8-6, Class 2A)

Notable wins: Bolles, Fletcher, Gulf Breeze, Hagerty, Nease, Oak Hall, St. Augustine.

Glance: The Bears went 2-1 since our last Super 6, beating Bolles (9-8) and Fletcher (14-3) while losing to powerhouse West Forsyth (20-1). They round out the regular season at Bishop Moore (Tuesday) and then at home against No. 1 Episcopal (Thursday).

5. (3) Bolles (7-6, Class 1A)

Notable wins: Buchholz, Gulf Breeze, Nease, South Walton, Tocoi Creek.

Glance: The Bulldogs are in a bit of a funk, losing to Bartram Trail (9-8) and Lake Mary (18-3) since our last Super 6. They do have an early-season win over Tocoi Creek, but Bolles has dropped four straight.

6. (6) Fleming Island (10-3, Class 1A)

Notable win: Creekside.

Glance: The Golden Eagles beat Santa Fe (22-1) and lost to Tocoi Creek (17-5) since our last Super 6. Meredith Giebeig, Brylee Thomas and Kelsey Hodge have combined for 116 goals for Fleming Island.
