JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The high school football season is right around the corner and Varsity 4 is launching a new set of coaching rankings this year. The area has more than two dozen independent teams and had one (West Nassau) play for a state championship last year. We are introducing the independent football Super 6 rankings for coaches to vote on throughout the season.

1. West Nassau (12-2), 126, (9)
Warriors are coming off a state runner-up finish in the Sunshine State Athletic Association championship game.
2. Union County (2-8), 80, (2)
Tough season for the Tigers, but iconic coach Robby Pruitt is back in charge at a place he led to three consecutive state titles during his first tenure there.
3. Fernandina Beach, 73
Pirates have turned things around under head coach Blake Willis and expect to be playing late in the SSAA season.
T4. Providence (4-7), 52, (1)
The Stallions went to the FHSAA state playoffs last year. Head coach Maurice Williams always puts a quality product on the field.
T4. Paxon (7-5), 52
KJ Palmer was electric last season. He may wind up as the top independent player in 2026.
6. Christ’s Church Academy (8-4), 40
The Eagles are going to be tough on both sides of the ball.
