Seven of the Jaguars’ last 10 regular-season games have ended with them sending their backup quarterback onto the field to finish the game. That is not normal in the NFL. That is the kind of streak the Jaguars are on right now.
Last week wasn’t perfect, but the sky wasn’t — and still isn’t — falling. In back-to-back weeks, the Jaguars played the two teams that met in last year’s AFC championship game.

They struggled and couldn’t finish against the Broncos last week. Then, they turned around and ran the Patriots right out of Jacksonville, a win so dominant that Trevor Lawrence could essentially toy with them, taking a knee at the Patriots’ 1-yard line with eight minutes still left on the clock.
This is an elite group. If the last two weeks have taught us anything, it’s that the Jaguars are ready to compete at the top of the AFC.
And this team is only getting better.
Everybody has been worried about Travis Hunter ... his snap count, where he is playing, when he is playing and all of that ... myself included. But what does he do? He goes out there and gets an interception.
I don’t know who needs to hear this, but listen closely: Travis Hunter is good at football. That’s it. That’s the take.
So, everybody needs to slow down a little bit. Keep in mind that Hunter is still less than a year removed from a major knee injury. Why rush him or put extra strain on that knee when the Jaguars are still winning games?
Remember: In seven of the last 10 games, Lawrence hasn’t had to finish. When you’re winning like that, it means you can afford to take things a little slowly, especially with a player you know you’re going to need in January, and really need if you’re going to be playing in February, if you catch my drift.
