Baptist Health has announced a multi-year agreement restoring in-network access for Cigna members to Baptist Health and Wolfson Children’s Hospital services. The change is effective immediately.

With days remaining before Baptist Health hospitals and employed providers are scheduled to leave Cigna’s network, patients across Northeast Florida are scrambling to understand their options and determine whether they can keep their doctors.

Thousands of Northeast Florida residents could soon lose in-network access to Baptist Health hospitals and providers as contract negotiations between Baptist Health and Cigna remain unresolved days before a June 24 deadline.

A local family says an ongoing contract dispute between Baptist Health and Cigna could force them to find new doctors, travel hours for specialized pediatric care and potentially pay thousands of dollars out of pocket if a new agreement is not reached before June 23.

Certain Baptist Health patients are expected see a shift in insurance coverage after Cigna Healthcare terminated its agreement with the health system, set to take effect June 23, 2026.
