It'll be hosted by Terrence J and feature Leslie Jones, DJ D-Nice, and Black cultural icons such as Frankie Beverly, The O’Jays, and Rapsody.

Despite bleak 2020, celebrities make effort to brighten year

It’s been filled with gloom and doom(scrolling), but some celebrities and those inspired by them have tried to brighten a bleak year. He reassigned his 10 seamstresses in New York to produce thousands daily for health care workers on the frontlines. The singer and husband Emilio Estefan's restaurant Estefan Kitchen served up homemade meals for health care workers in Miami. The challenge coordinated offers by celebrities and athletes to raise funds to feed those in need during the pandemic.

Socially distant concerts signal a reopening for live music

As states start to let businesses reopen under limitations, music industry organizers are testing out new models of smaller, socially distant concerts. Its about creating an experience for live music again, said Couri. It would give people hope that this can be repeated again and again in many different places.But the path ahead for live concerts hasnt been easy. Drive-in concerts arent new, but in the wake of the pandemic, the idea hit in Europe and now the United States. We're ahead of the curve on it and nobody wants to see live music go away, said Carbone.

DJ D-Nice leads virtual dance parties on Instagram Live: "Music has always been a great escape"

Legendary DJ D-Nice is determined to bring a dance party to everybody at home. On Monday's "CBS This Morning," D-Nice talked about his inspiration for the virtual dance party: "I was at home, I'm self-isolating, so just sitting here. "I was literally just playing music from my laptop, and the next day, I hooked up the turntables. DJ D-Nice, who attracts tens of thousands to his Instagram dance parties under the title "Home School at Club Quarantine." "Music has always been a great escape," D-Nice said.
