Body camera video released Friday by the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office gives a glimpse into a deputy-involved shooting that ended with the death of a suspected burglar.

It’s not every day that a car chase happens in Jacksonville, but in the last week, there have been three different car chases in the area.

A deputy pursuit of a burglary suspect ended Saturday morning when the man, who was armed with a pistol, was shot near Davis Park in Ponte Vedra Beach as thousands of children played nearby, Sheriff Rob Hardwick said.

This is one of the locations in St. Johns County where residents are encouraged to bring Christmas trees. ST.
